Chester’s Christmas season has an unusual set of guests. A family of skiing polar bears in Ivy knitwear has arrived at The Ivy Chester Brasserie, along with its festive menus.

The Ivy has gone Alpine across its restaurants this year, and Chester has the full seasonal line-up.

Festive set menu

Served from 4 November, the festive set menu is £55 for two courses or £65 for three, with dishes such as twice-baked cheese soufflé with black truffle, a traditional turkey ballotine and crème brûlée flambéed at the table.

Naughty Elves Breakfasts

Last year’s family favourite returns on eight dates between 5 and 23 December, with mischievous elves, festive entertainment and a gift for every child. Tickets are £32.50 for adults and £27.50 for children.

Sessions run from 9am to 11am, and there’s a £10 deposit per person when you book.

Afternoon tea and cocktails

A festive afternoon tea comes with the option of Nyetimber English sparkling wine, and the winter cocktail list includes a Bear Colada, a Winter Spice Margarita and Santa’s Kir, with alcohol-free versions too.

New Year’s Eve

See in 2027 with a set lunch from £34.95 for two courses, or dinner at £97.50 per person including a glass of Champagne.

Chester Life Tip!
Combine lunch with a walk on the city walls. It’s a lovely way to see Chester’s Christmas lights from above.
